From Baton Rouge to Zachary, Louisiana—and now to job sites across the Gulf South—Kary Efferson has spent his life following in the footsteps of family who served. Inspired by his father, a Purple Heart recipient from the Vietnam War, and his brother, a Marine, Kary served six years in the Army National Guard as an E-4 Specialist (82 Bravo Construction Surveyor), attending basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
His military service taught him discipline, teamwork, and the importance of giving his best in every situation. Those lessons carry over every day to his role as an A-Class Material Handler in the laydown yard at Marathon Galveston Bay, where he helps keep projects running smoothly and fosters strong relationships with his team.
Construction has always been a passion for Kary. He enjoys seeing projects through from start to finish, working hands-on outdoors, and being part of a team that builds something lasting. Over the years, he has applied the same principles learned in the military—discipline, integrity, and building strong relationships—to his work at Performance. Kary has experienced veteran support from Performance firsthand, thriving in a company that respects his service and integrates his skills into every project.
Outside of work, Kary enjoys bass fishing and golf, earning the 2024 Performance Bass Tournament title, and cherishes time with his family in Key West. Whether in uniform, on site, or on the water, he brings the same focus, dedication, and integrity to everything she does.
