Highlighting Our Veterans: Chase Elgin

For Chase Elgin, service and precision have defined every chapter of his life—from maintaining Navy aircrafts to ensuring quality on industrial job sites. A U.S. Navy veteran and Quality Control Manager at Performance Contractors, Chase brings discipline, accountability, and a deep commitment to excellence to everything he does.

Born in Baton Rouge and raised in Denham Springs, Louisiana, Chase became the first in his family to serve in the military. In 2001, he joined the United States Navy, driven by a desire “to serve my country, gain valuable skills, and challenge myself.”

He completed basic training at Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois and went on to serve five years on active duty, followed by three years in the inactive reserves. As an AME (Aviation Structural Mechanic, Equipment), Chase was responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft safety equipment—work that required precision, reliability, and composure under pressure.

“My time in the Navy was a transformative experience,” he said. “I worked on aircraft safety equipment, ensuring our pilots and crew were ready for their missions. The Navy taught me discipline, attention to detail, and how to perform under pressure. Those are skills I carry with me today.”

That focus on performance and teamwork stayed with him long after he left active duty in 2006. “Joining the Navy gave me a sense of purpose and direction,” Chase said. “It taught me resilience, leadership, and the importance of adaptability. I grew from a young man into someone who could handle responsibility and work effectively in high-stakes environments.”

After transitioning out of the military, Chase was drawn to the industrial construction field for its challenge and impact. “It offered a dynamic environment where I could apply my technical skills and attention to detail,” he said. “The opportunity to work on meaningful projects and ensure quality outcomes was a natural fit after my military experience.”

Today, Chase serves as the Quality Control Manager for Electrical and Instrumentation at Performance Contractors, a role he’s held for nearly three years. “I oversee quality assurance for critical electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring projects meet the highest standards,” he explained. “I was recruited for my expertise and work ethic, and I’ve been given opportunities to grow professionally ever since.”

For Chase, leadership means consistency and collaboration. “In the Navy, I learned to lead by example, maintain composure under pressure, and foster teamwork,” he said. “At Performance, I’ve built on those skills by mentoring colleagues, solving complex problems, and driving quality initiatives.”

He’s also quick to credit Performance’s veteran-friendly culture for helping him make the transition to civilian life. “Performance has shown a strong commitment to veterans through a supportive work environment that values the skills we bring,” he said. “They recognized the skills I developed in the Navy and made my transition smoother by providing clear expectations and structure.”

Outside of work, Chase finds balance in the outdoors and time with family. “In my spare time, I love spending time with my son,” he said. “I’m also an avid outdoorsman and enjoy fishing whenever I get the chance. Being out in nature helps me recharge and stay grounded.”

Whether it’s maintaining mission readiness, ensuring job site safety, or setting the bar for quality and precision, Chase Elgin continues to live out the values that shaped him in the Navy—discipline, accountability, and excellence. We’re proud to recognize his service and contributions to the Performance family.
